Escape the hustle and bustle of city life and join Kelly and Martha for a nourishing day retreat in the heart of Blackheath, London. By joining forces you will experience the beauty and benefits of both pilates and yoga

The day

Our home for the day is the Blackheath Complementary Health Centre, set in the heart of Blackheath Royal Standard. It is a warm and welcoming place that  promotes a sense of peace as soon as you enter through the doors.

Spaces are limited to 8 people, come alone or bring a friend. Either way you will have a group of likeminded people ready to share the day with.

Our day starts with a morning of pranayama, meditation and intention setting. Bringing us into the space and getting us ready for the day ahead.

This will be followed by a physio led mat-based Pilates session with Kelly, designed to target your whole body from head to toe. Kelly is a Chartered Physiotherapist trained by the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates institute, what does that all mean? You will participate in a safe and effective class designed to prepare and progress you as it flows. It is suitable for beginners, if haven’t exercised for a while, are a seasoned pro or carrying an injury.

Afterwards, you will have time to explore the lovely local area to refuel your body. We have partnered with some of our favourite spots to offer you a little discount – enjoy delicious freshly made food, juices, cake and coffee.

We will reconvene for a myofascial release workshop. In this 45 minute workshop Kelly will take you through a series of self-release techniques, using spiky balls and foam rolling, that you can take away and use in everyday life.

The afternoon will be led by Martha. She will guide you through a gentle flow to rest. Starting with a slow and calm yoga flow that links movement with breath; transitioning to a beautifully calm restorative and yoga nidra (yogic sleep) practice to close our day together.

Schedule

Morning

Arrive at Blackheath Complementary Health Centre between 10.15-10.25am to find your space in the studio and enjoy your pre-ordered drink. 10.25-10.30 we will have a short welcome and introduction.

10.30-11am. Guided pranayama (breath), meditation and intention setting practice to help us prepare for the day ahead. (led by Martha)

11am-12pm. Mat-based pilates session designed to target the whole body from head to toe. Helping to increase spinal mobility, muscle flexibility, improve deep abdominal and pelvic floor strength, as well as improve posture. A combination that leaves you relaxed with a feeling of freedom in the body.

Lunch

12-1.15pm – enjoy lunch at your leisure and discover the delicious treats the local area has to offer. Take some time for yourself, of maybe join your new friends..

Afternoon

1.30-2.15 – Myofascial release workshop (led by Kelly)

2.15-4.00pm – 45 minute gentle flow practice followed by 60 minute deep restorative and yoga nidra practice (led by Martha).

4pm finishing the day with parting thanks / hugs.
