Therapies: Hopi Ear Candling
Hopi Ear Candling
(Thermo-Auricular Therapy)
Ear candles have been used by many cultures as an effective natural therapy since ancient times. Historical roots can be found among the people of the Siberian prairies, Egypt, Asia and the native North and South American Indians.
A lighted hollow candle is inserted in the ear whilst lying down. A light suction action (chimney effect) and the movement of the flame create a vibration of air in the Ear candle, generating a massage-like effect on the eardrum.
This induces a pleasant feeling of warmth and a balance of pressure in the ears, forehead and sinuses.
Ear candling is good for:
Lymph drainage for glands and circulation
Relieves pain of ears and head
Helps with excess wax (esp. children’s glue ear)
Ear noise (Tinnitus)
Stress and nervousness
Colds and Flu
Sinusitis and Hayfever
