Ramona Peoples

Ramona Peoples
MSc, Structural Integration (KMI), REPS level 4

Since the late 90’s Ramona has been working with people from all walks of life to help them find better awareness of their bodies and allow more ease and comfort in their everyday lives, both through movement coaching and manual therapy.

Ramona is a certified practitioner of Kinesis Myofascial Integration (KMI), a Structural Integration approach that evolved from Ida Rolf’s pioneering work on the body’s fascial system. She studied KMI with Tom Myers, the originator of Anatomy Trains Myofascial Meridians and James Earls. Both are world-renowned body workers and teachers whose insight into the fascial connectivity of the body provide a means to understand the relationships of the various structures of the body.  Applying this understanding to her treatments enables a holistic approach that is tailored to meet the needs of the individual. Ramona is also trained in advanced myofascial techniques, deep tissue massage and the treatment of common injuries through her studies with American Rolfers and bodyworkers Til Luchau and Art Riggs. If needed, Ramona can apply tape to support joints and tissues, relax overused muscles, help alleviate pain and support rehabilitation from injuries.

Ramona has many years experience of teaching Pilates and somatics, using the power of experiential anatomy and imagery to support both her movement and manual work. She holds an MSc in Dance Science from Laban and has worked in dance education as a lecturer in somatics, anatomy, fitness, health and safety. Ramona is known for her creative and fun teaching style that deepens the understanding of our own bodies in an easy to follow way, releases tension and creates freedom of movement. Her approach to movement is adaptable to cater for every individual’s unique wants and needs. Her classes are infused with a love of movement, either following a theme or working with props to keep her clients progressing and the workouts varied. Besides teaching her regular classes, Ramona has also been developing and teaching movement awareness workshops for the general public as well as movement professionals for many years.

Ramona is a member of both, the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) and BackCare, the charity for healthier backs. She regularly attends and  presents at professional development courses and workshops.

Ramona’s special interests lie in whole body-mind connections, women’s health and back care but she sees people from all walks of life and for a multitude of reasons. Some clients come for rehabilitation, some for education and others to improve their technique, either sport oriented or dance related. To find out more, check out the pages describing what she does, go to her website, contact her or book in to see her.
