Miles Joseph
My yoga journey began in the early 2000s as a student at triyoga after transitioning from a martial arts practice. Since then, in parallel with pursuing a successful corporate career, I developed a passion for yoga and Thai Yoga Massage and have taken numerous trainings. Over the years these practices have increasingly become a cornerstone to my physical well-being and self-discovery.
YOGA
I took my first teacher training in Anusara yoga with Bridget Woods-Kramer, receiving a Yoga Alliance 200 hours yoga certification in May 2013. My second 200 hours Yoga Alliance teacher training was with Manel Rodrigues, Hatha Precision & Flow in Lisbon, 2017. I am currently taking a third teacher training with Jean Hall and James Rafael – Daoist Flow – a mindful yoga movement practice taking inspiration from traditional yoga asana, qigong and somatic movement.
These teachers have been key influences on my own style of teaching, principally a Vinyasa Flow style of yoga – incorporating traditional yoga asana with movement in tune with the breath.
THAI YOGA MASSAGE
I was first inspired to train as Thai Yoga Massage therapist when attending a workshop with Krishnatakis in 2013, viewed by many to be one of the leading practitioners in Thai Yoga Massage today, and who I consider to be my primary teacher. Since then, I have trained with a number of other leading practitioners including David Lutt, Kira Balaskas, Pau Castellsague and Flora Bisogno. Through these trainings I have developed a deep understanding of both static and dynamic techniques.
I have also trained in Lomi Lomi and Ayruvedic Yoga massage, oil-based massages, that integrate well with Thai Yoga Massage.
I continue to participate in many workshops and retreats in the UK and internationally to develop my practice and teaching skills.
