Hatha Yoga – Mondays 12 – 1.15pm

Poppy will be teaching a general Hatha Yoga class.  She has trained with the British Wheel of Yoga (a 3.5 year training course). The class will begin with ten minutes of breath awareness which can help to calm and at the same time energise. The different techniques Poppy will teach can help students to relax the body and mind.

She will then teach asanas –(postures) which help to strengthen and stretch different parts of the body, whilst also encouraging balance and good posture. Hatha yoga is suitable for all levels and will encourages all to become stronger and more flexible over time. Poppy will demonstrate the poses and supervise her students to ease the body in and out of yoga postures, helping students with their alignment.

The Asanas will last for 50 minutes and then she will lead students into a fifteen minute final relaxation, which is considered the most important part of the yoga session as it leaves students with a calm mind and relaxed muscles, allowing the body to absorb the energy released by the asanas and to gain the maximum benefit from them.
